Let me see your ID.

You might be wondering where the hell I’ve been.

Or maybe not at all. Whatever.

Either way, I felt like I owed you, the loyal reader an explanation, so I’ll try to keep it short.

Here goes.

The main reason for my absence is this: I believe I am in the middle of a style identity crisis.

You’re now wondering, is that a real thing? Well, I don’t really know. I think I made it up. But it sounds and feels very real right now.2d62a3d98c13b5550748f859dc216739

Every time I look in my closet, I am overwhelmed by a sense of ennui (as cliche as this may sound). Either due to exhaustion or laziness, I wear the same thing over and over and over again. Working from home doesn’t help. I can do everything from my bed and, in most cases, I do. My prolonged exposure to spandex and sports bras due to the 30 day bikram challenge I just completed further hinders my outfit decision making process. My style ID has somehow become lost or confused.

This ‘crisis’ has made me put my brand and blog back under the microscope. How do I want you to see me? What do I want you to take away from every post? What is my style ID? Every time I pulled on a pair of yoga pants or donned the same jeans and a tee shirt two days in a row, all of these questions began popping up until it became very clear what I need to do: I need a style refresh. A mini makeover of sorts to get me excited about fashion and blogging again.

I know there are so many of you out there like myself. Looking in your closet and feeling listless; grabbing the same old dress or the same old pair of jeans and that old, pilly sweater just because, “Meh! It fits and it’s comfortable.” If you’re anything like me, you’re not satisfied with feeling comfortable. You should feel AMAZING every time you walk out the door because you totally deserve it.

She’s a doctor, a lawer, a surfer model…Is there anything Barbie can’t do in rubber heels?

I, like many of you, am tired of wearing boring, mundane clothes. Spandex is not my favorite fiber and it certainly doesn’t make me feel like the fashion maven I know I am. However, a whole new wardrobe is out of the question. Starting from scratch would put me further in debt and a brand new look is definitely not worth the financial hardship.

Starting now, I am re-vamping and re-dedicating my blog with the soul purpose of getting psyched about getting dressed again. Look forward to new blog segments and pieces dedicated to reinventing your style on a budget. What is your style ID? Are any of you going through a style crisis? What sort of posts concerning re-styling, or personal style reinvention, would you like to see?
